Polar Plunge

Take the Plunge!

Brrr! If you’re looking for a new wellness routine, The Recovery Zone’s Polar Plunge is the perfect method for you. For our polar plunge experience, we use two large stainless steel tubs. One tub is filled with cold water with a temperature around 10 degrees Celsius while the other is filled with ice and water with a temperature of lower of 0 degrees Celsius.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be an athlete to try out Recovery Zone’s Polar Plunge here in Canmore. Anyone can benefit from plunging into arctic-cold water – just look at supermodel Helena Christensen and Olympic free-skier, Maggie Voisin!

Cold water therapy might not be something new, but Recovery Zone’s Polar Plunge just might be the cold wake-up call you need to start prioritizing your health & wellness!

WHO NEEDS IT?

Anyone can benefit from using the polar plunge!

Whether you are an athlete and use your legs often, are run down and tired and want to be rejuvenated, or just want to be in optimum health, the polar plunge is for you!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Here’s a quick thermodynamics lesson for you!

Cold helps reduce inflammation and removes any damaged tissue.

Moving between hot and cold drastically speeds up the recovery process by bringing in nutrients and oxygen to repair tissue while also removing damaged tissue. It also challenges the circulatory system in such as way as to improve our circulation.

Just jump in!

WHEN CAN IT BE USED?

Recovery Zone’s Polar Plunge can be used any time of the day – whenever you feel like it! We often suggest warming up the body first then doing three rounds of hot and cold, being sure to finish with cold.
