What Is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a regulated health profession focused on assessing, diagnosing, and treating conditions that affect movement and physical function. Physiotherapists work with the musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular systems to restore function, manage pain, and help patients return to the activities that matter to them.

People seek physiotherapy for a wide range of reasons: recovering from a sports injury or surgery, managing a chronic condition, addressing pain that has built up over time, or simply staying active and well through the different stages of life. At One Wellness, we see a diverse range of patients, from babies to young athletes to older adults, from post-surgical rehab to complex chronic conditions, and we bring the same standard of dedicated, one-on-one care to every person who walks through the door.

No referral is needed to book a physiotherapy appointment at One Wellness. WCB, MVA, and Alberta Health Services programs are accepted, and direct billing is available for most major insurance providers.

Physiotherapy at One Wellness

At One Wellness, physiotherapy is built around one principle: it's all about you. Every patient receives dedicated, one-on-one time with their physiotherapist from start to finish. No shared treatment rooms, no rushed appointments. Just patient-centred, collaborative care focused on your specific goals and what matters to you.

Our team of highly educated and experienced physiotherapists brings a broad range of specializations under one roof. The team includes physiotherapists with backgrounds spanning nursing and physiotherapy, dedicated pediatric care, sports injury rehab, running analysis, vestibular and concussion treatment, and return-to-sport programs, alongside FCAMPT and CAFCI-level credentials. Whether you're recovering from an acute injury, managing a complex chronic condition, or looking for a physio experienced in children's care, our team has the depth to match you with the right practitioner.

The team also includes physiotherapists with advanced training in IMS, custom orthotics, and manual therapy. WCB, MVA, and Alberta Health Services programs are accepted across the team, and direct billing may also be available with most major insurance providers. Our front desk team can assist you to determine what type of initial assessment to book.

When a multi-disciplinary approach supports better outcomes, our physiotherapists work closely with One Wellness's massage therapists, acupuncturist, exercise physiologist, and Recovery Zone to create a more complete path to recovery. Helping keep you Active for Life is what we're here for.
