Sarah is a new grad from U of A who has returned to her hometown of Canmore to begin her practice as a physiotherapist. Her treatment style begins with understanding the unique goals of her clients, then working with them to create individualized rehabilitation programs to help them accomplish their goals. Her philosophy has always been to work collaboratively and involve people in their own rehabilitation to promote motivation, empowerment, and client-centered care. Her approach involves education, hands-on symptom management techniques, and custom therapeutic exercise programs to help people get back to doing the things they love.
Sarah’s upbringing involved cross country ski racing and coaching children’s sports teams. She now spends her time as a weekend warrior in the mountains. Sarah loves people and enjoys working with clients of all ages, conditions, and activity levels.
Sarah chose to become a physiotherapist because of the profound and inspiring impact physiotherapy had on her life and the lives of so many people in her community. Growing up in a mountain town, Sarah learned all about the importance of physiotherapy following the sports injuries of her friends, her family, and even herself. She saw firsthand how effective physiotherapy could be- not only in injury rehabilitation but also in restoring people’s confidence and empowering people to return to the activities they love and live their lives to the fullest.

What does Sarah do for fun?
Sarah spends the vast majority of her personal time in the mountains. In the winter, she can be found backcountry skiing, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing. When the snow begins to melt, she swaps out skis for wheels, and can usually be found on her mountain bike, gravel bike, or road bike. She loves backpacking, trail running, and can occasionally also be found on a rope doing sport climbs or glacier trips. When she has tired herself out from all of her beloved activities, Sarah can be found playing with her dogs, reading good books, baking sourdough bread, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
